Spencer Hahn and
Trip Freitag both earned Academic All-MAC honors for their performances on the track, in the field and the classroom during the 2026 outdoor season as announced by the Middle Atlantic Conference on Friday.
The MAC sports information directors nominate and vote for the Academic All-MAC teams, giving 50 percent weight on both academic success and athletic success. A student-athlete must have a fall semester grade-point average (GPA) of 3.20 or higher to be eligible for the award.
Hahn and Freitag join eight other MAC men's track and field student-athletes on the Academic All-MAC team.
Hahn, a junior Digital Media Marketing major, not only took home the gold in the 800m at the 2026 MAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships but he also recorded a record breaking time of 1:51.98. Hahn's record breaking time bested his own record and was also the 5th fastest 800m time in the Mid-Atlantic Region which earned him All-Region honors.
Freitag, a first year student studying Business Administration & Management, recorded a third place finish at the 2026 MAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships in the javelin. Freitag also set a new Alvernia record with a mark of 61.70m, which was the 18th mark in the country and booked him a spot at the 2026 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Freitag's mark was also the third best mark in the Mid-Atlantic region and earned him All-Region honors. Freitag also became just the third male Alvernia Track & Field student-athlete to compete at the NCAA Championships in program history.
