Ross Scores Four To Lead Alvernia Past Rosemont, 15-7

Crusaders Talley Six Straight To Close The Game

Rosemont, PA (April 10, 2006) – Alvernia College junior Lisa Ross (Quakertown, PA/Quakertown) scored four goals and the Crusaders tallied the last six of the game in a 15-7 win over Rosemont College Monday afternoon in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference women’s lacrosse action at Rosemont.

            Alvernia opened the scoring with three straight goals in the first six minutes of play.  Rosemont came back with three straight and after an exchange of the goals, the score remained tied at 4-4 with just under 20 minutes gone.

            Another quick spurt of four goals for the guests put Alvernia up 8-4 just 2:33 before halftime, but the Ramblers tallied once in the final minute of the first half to cut the led to 8-5 at the break.

            The hosts scored two of the first three goals in the second half to pull within two goals at 9-7, but Alvernia closed the game with six straight goals.  Sophomore Katie O’Brien (Boothwyn, PA/Garnet Valley) scored the first and the last goal during the final Alvernia streak.

            Janelle Fulmer (Emmaus, PA/Emmaus) played all 60 minutes in net for the Crusaders and made three saves.
