Sikorski Leads Crusaders With Seven Kills

Reading, Pa. (Sept. 20, 2006) – Junior outside hitter Amy Sikorski (Topton, PA/Brandywine Heights) recorded a match-high seven kills to lead Alvernia College to a 3-0 (30-10, 30-20, 30-14) win over Immaculata University Wednesday evening in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference women’s volleyball action at the Physical Education Center.

            Alvernia won five points of the first service rotations of Lauren Crimi (Nazareth, PA/Notre Dame) and Cassie Reber (Wyomissing, PA/Wilson), and cruised to a 30-10 decision in the opener.  Crimi struck again for eight straight points late in the second game as the Crusaders pushed a 20-18 lead to 28-18 en route to the 30-20 win, and the hosts gave Immaculata just six points on serve in the third and deciding game.

            Three different players recorded at least four service aces during the match for the Crusaders led by Crimi with five.   Crimi also paced the team in digs with eight and handed out 19 assists.

            Alvernia will continue the conference schedule next Tuesday when it hosts Wesley College at 7:00 p.m.
