Einsel Saves 10 For Crusaders, McCaffrey Scores Late Goal

Dover, Del. (Sept. 27, 2006) – Wesley College scored a pair of first half goals and held off Alvernia College in a 2-1 win Wednesday evening in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference women’s soccer action at Wesley.  Alvernia freshman Kate McCaffrey (Northeast, PA/St. Hubert) scored in the final minute of play for the Crusaders.

            Wesley got a pair of unassisted goals from Kyle Savidge in the 16th and 21st minutes to open up a 2-0 lead which it enjoyed for most of the game.  McCaffrey also tallied unassisted spoiling the shutout with 55 seconds left in the game.

            Alvernia keeper Katie Einsel (Mohnton, PA/Governor Mifflin) made 10 saves for the Crusaders (2-4-1, 2-3-1 PAC) in just over 80 minutes of play.  Danielle Fitzpatrick (Old Bridge, NJ/Old Bridge) played the final nine-plus minutes and recorded one save.

            Alvernia will play a non-conference night game this Friday at Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia.
