Alvernia would tie the game in the third inning with another RBI single from Rhoads to score
Michele Kassab (Pompton Lakes, NJ/Pompton Lakes) who reached with a single. A two-run homerun from Sorrentino in the fourth and a two-run homerun from
Samantha Geisinger (Thurmont, MD/Catoctin) in the fifth would give Alvernia the 7-3 lead. Starting pitcher Jensen would control the game the rest of the way scattering only four hits and giving up one unearned run over the final six innings for the 7-4 win.

The Crusaders quickly battled back for the lead with four runs in the second inning highlighted by an RBI-triple from
Lauren Crimi (Nazareth, PA/Notre Dame). Another three runs in the third inning gave Alvernia the convincing 8-1 lead. Starter Williams held off Albright through the third inning after the opening homerun and relief pitcher
Ashley Leonhard (Bernville, PA/Tulpehocken) did the same through the fourth inning.
The fifth inning saw Alvernia tack on five more insurance runs including homeruns from both Rhoads and Kassab.
