Reading, Pa. (April 7, 2008) - Alvernia College capitalized on a shortened Arcadia lineup to take the 6-3 non-conference victory over the Knights on Monday afternoon in Reading. Alvernia moves to 5-4, while Arcadia drops to 1-5 overall on the year.

The Crusaders picked up 3 points by forfeit, winning 2 singles and a doubles match to close the deal. Sophomore Ryan Lineaweaver (Robesonia, Pa./ELCO) and freshman Eric Snyder (Easton, Pa./Notre Dame) teamed up for a point at #2 doubles, and Snyder repeated his success at #4 singles. Junior David Schaeffer (Pottstown, Pa./Pottstown) also won handily at #2 singles.

Tim Fitzgerald, former 2-time PAC Player of the Year, won his 14th straight match, winning a match that was much tougher than its final score, 6-1, 6-1, over Phil Snyder (Easton, Pa./Notre Dame).
