Reading, Pa. (Mar. 17, 2009) - Penn State-Berks (2-0) earned a 7-2 win over Alvernia University (0-4) Tuesday afternoon in non-conference men's tennis action at Angelica Park.

PSU-Berks jumped out to a 3-0 lead earning wins at all three doubles flights including a key tiebreaker win at No. 2 doubles.

The team split the top four singles matches with Alvernia getting points from Morgan Davidheiser (Boyertown, Pa./Boyertown) and David Schaeffer (Pottstown, Pa./Pottstown) at No. 3 and No. 4 singles respectively.

Alvernia will face Colonial States Athletic Conference preseason favorite Cabrini College on Thursday in Radnor.
