Madison, N.J. (Mar. 29, 2009) - Alvernia University (1-6, 1-1) picked up its first win of the season downing FDU-Florham (1-5, 0-2) 6-3 Saturday afternoon in Freedom Conference men's tennis action at FDU.

Alvernia juniors Zach Lockwood (Reading, Pa./Conrad Weiser) and Adam Lush (Reading, Pa./Muhlenberg) combined to earn three points winning at No. 1 doubles and then No. 1 and No. 5 singles respectively.  Ryan Lineaweaver (Robesonia, Pa./ELCO) earned a three set win at No. 2 singles and Alvernia won five of six singles matches was David Schaeffer (Pottstown, Pa./Pottstown) and Zach Marsar (Sayville, N.Y.) prevailed at No. 4 and No. 6.

Alvernia will travel to Cabrini College for a rescheduled match on Monday.
