Reading, Pa. (Apr. 21, 2009) - Alvernia University (2-11, 2-5) fell out of playoff contention Tuesday afternoon with a 7-2 loss to Eastern University (6-6, 4-3) in Freedom Conference men's tennis action at Angelica Park.

The Crusaders earned one point during doubles play, and couldn't overcome the early deficit as the Eagles took five of six singles matches in straight sets.  Alvernia sophomore Morgan Davidheiser (Boyertown, Pa./Boyertown) earned a singles win in three sets.

Alvernia will finish the season hosting Lebanon Valley College on Wednesday.
