York Takes 9-0 Decision At Alvernia

Reading, Pa. (Mar. 15, 2011) - York College (5-2) swept through three doubles matches then won all six singles matches in straight sets for a 9-0 win over Alvernia University (1-4) Tuesday afternoon in non-conference men's tennis action at Angelica Park.

The Spartans took 8-1 decisions at both No. 2 and No. 3 doubles with the Alvernia No. 1 doubles team of Jed Spangler (Somerset, Pa./Somerset) and Nathan Bauer (Washington, N.J./Warren Hills Regional) pusing the first doubles match to 8-5.

Spangler tested the Spartans top player at No. 1 singles before falling 4-3.

Alvernia returns to action Thursday for another non-conference match at Ursinus College.
