Crusaders Stymied By Blue Jays

Elizabethtown, Pa. (Oct. 10, 2012) - The Alvernia University (6-5-3, 1-3) men's soccer team was held scoreless in a 1-0 loss at Elizabethtown College (5-6-2, 3-1) this evening in Commonwealth Conference action.  Alvernia outshot the Blue Jays 7-6 in the second half, and earned six corner kicks to E-Town's 0, but they were unable to overcome Elizabethtown's first-half goal.

The Blue Jays got on the board, with the eventual game-winner in the 33rd minute with a goal from Dylan Sisler.  Alvernia had just one first-half shot.  The Crusaders put up a strong second half, tallying seven shots and six corner kicks, but were unable to find the back of the net and suffered their third straight loss.

Crusader goalkeeper Ben Diller (Etters, Pa./Red Land) had three saves on the night.

Alvernia returns to action Sat. Oct. 13th when they host Widener at 2:00pm as a part of Alvernia's Homecoming celebrations.
