Etown Tops Alvernia 8-1

Minnich Continues Solid Play At No. 2 Singles

Reading, Pa. (Apr. 25, 2012) - Freshman Dan Minnich (Palmyra, Pa./Palmyra) continued his solid play with a three-set win at No. 2 singles for the only point of day for Alvernia University (7-6, 1-3) in an 8-1 loss to Elizabethtown College (10-6, 5-0) in Commonwealth Conference men's tennis action at Angelica Park.

Minnich has a personal five-match win streak and is 13-3 this season at No. 2 singles.  He defeated Etown's Josh Riehl 6-1, 4-6, 10-6.

Alvernia wraps up the regular season hosting Lycoming this Saturday.  With a win the Crusaders could enter a three-way tie for the fourth and final playoff spot.
