Center Valley, Pa. (May 1, 2012) - The Crusader Softball team set a new program record of 32 wins with their sweep of host DeSales University (15-25) this afternoon in non-conference action.  Alvernia (32-8) took game one 8-1 behind a strong pitching performance from Brittanie Wolfe (Pine Grove, Pa./Pine Grove), and followed that with a 5-1 win in game two.  Deanna Dungee (North Wales, Pa./North Penn) earned the win in game two, scattering just five hits and one run through seven innings.

Alvernia plated three more in the third with three singles, a walk and a fielder's choice.  Felicia McKenna (Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown) and Jacklyn Torres (Colonia, NJ/Colonia) both had RBI-singles in the third.  Three more came across in the top of the sixth as Torres and Katie Manowski (Grasonville, Md./Kent Island) got things started with back-to-back doubles, and Peto and Grim followed with an RBI-singles.

Wolfe scattered seven hits through seven innings, allowing just one earned run in the bottom of the fifth to earn her conference-leading 18th win.
