York, Pa. (Sept. 1, 2012) - Senior Lauren Guido (Fleetwood, Pa./Fleetwood) finished off a strong opening weekend scoring the only goal of the game nearly nine minutes into the second overtime and leading Alvernia University (2-0) to a 1-0 win over Kean University (1-1) Saturday afternoon in the championship game of the York College Field Hockey Tournament.

Guido found the back of the cage for the third time this weekend and ended more than 93 minutes of scoreless hockey.  Sophomore Erin Wunsch (West Lawn, Pa./Wilson) has gone the first 163 minutes of the season without allowing a goal.  She made eight saves to keep the Cougars at bay on Saturday.

Kean put four shots on net in the opening half, but Wunsch stopped them all.  She added three more saves in the sudden-death overtime period before Guido's game-winner.

The Crusaders have one more game on the road next Thursday at Franklin & Marshall before opening the home schedule next Saturday against Montclair St.
