Dallas, Pa. (Sept. 29, 2012) - Alvernia University (2-2) earned a tough 6-3 win over Misericoria University (0-3) Saturday afternoon in non-conference men's tennis action at Misericordia.
The Crusaders were forced to forfeit a doubles point when a member of the No. 3 flight became ill. They were able to take the other two flights and hit singles play with a 2-1 advantage. The illness also forced players from the bottom of the lineup to play up a flight. The Cougars took advantage winning at No. 5 and 6, but the Crusaders remained strong at the top winning four of the six singles matches.
