Reading, Pa. (Apr. 6, 2013) - Alvernia University (6-6, 2-1) got a 9-7 win at No. 1 doubles and took all three doubles points en route to a 7-2 win over Lycoming College (1-4, 0-2) Saturday afternoon in Commonwealth Conference men's tennis action at Alvernia.
The No. 1 team of
Nathan Bauer (Washington, N.J./Warren Hills Regional) and
Dan Minnich (Palmyra, Pa./Palmyra) earned the 9-7 win over the top Lycoming team while the Crusaders took the other two points with 8-2 wins at No. 2 doubles and an 8-5 win at No. 3 doubles.
Lycoming earned wins at No. 1 and No. 5 singles to get on the board. Alvernia won at No. 2, 3, and 4 singles dropping just four total games in the three matches.
The Crusaders continue the conference schedule hosting Messiah College on Wednesday.
