Grantham, Pa. (May 2, 2013) - Second-seeded Messiah College (10-5) earned a 5-0 win over #3 Alvernia University (10-9) Thursday afternoon in semifinal action of the Commonwealth Conference Men's Tennis Championship at Messiah.
The Falcons took a close-fought, 8-6 win at No. 1 doubles and won the other two flights with relative ease, 8-2 and 8-0, for a 3-0 lead heading into singles play. The hosts ended the match with identical 6-1, 6-0 wins at No. 4 and No. 5 singles to move on to the finals. Messiah will travel to top-seeded Elizabethtown for the final on Saturday.
