Reading, Pa. (Apr. 23, 2014) - Alvernia University (9-8) earned a 9-0 shutout win over Cabrini College (4-11) in non-conference men's tennis action Wednesday afternoon at Angelica Park.
The Crusaders took control of the match with three points from doubles play including a default win at No. 3 doubles since the Cavaliers only traveled with five players.
All five singles matches went the Crusaders' way in straight sets. Daniel Minnich (Palmyra, Pa./Lower Dauphin) gave up just eight total points in two sets in singles play and racked up 14 aces on his way to a 6-0, 6-0 win. Senior

Ben Daubenspeck (Reading, Pa./Reading) for an 8-4 win at No. 2 doubles and followed with a 6-1, 6-3 win at No. 5 singles.
Alvernia returns to action Wednesday when it hosts a Commonwealth Championship semifinal vs Elizabethtown at Mifflin Courts.
