However the Crusaders quickly answered, tying things up in the second as Shannon Grim (Williamstown, NJ / Williamstown), who led off the inning with a double, scored on Samantha Penk's (Lincroft, NJ / Middletown South) ground ball to short stop.
Alvernia posted another run to go ahead 2-1 in the third as Aly Shilling (Blue Bell, Pa. / Christopher Dock) opened the inning with a solo shot to left center.

The Dutchmen tied the game at two in the fourth, but the Crusaders pulled ahead in the fifth. Brianna Kuhn (Elizabethtown, Pa. / Elizabethtown) gave Alvernia the 4-2 lead when she notched a two-run homerun to left field.

Alvernia kept the pressure on, putting the game away in the seventh. Kuhn struck again, plating Brianna DePriest (Bechtelsville, Pa. / Boyertown Area) and Penk on a single to left field.

Brittanie Wolfe (Pine Grove, Pa. / Pine Grove Area) picked up the win on the mound, allowing just six hits and one walk.

In game two, the Crusaders posted their first run in the third. Down 1-0, Rachel Fritz (Kenhorst, Pa. / Governor Mifflin) ripped a two-out double to center to score Amanda Galanti (Red Bank, NJ / Marine Acad. Of Sci/Tech), who drew a two-out walk in her at bat.

Alvernia added another run in the fourth. With one out, Felicia McKenna (Williamstown, NJ / Williamstown) singled to third to give the Crusaders a base runner. McKenna would come around to score on DePriest's double to left.

The Dutchmen took a 4-2 lead in the bottom of the fourth, and tacked on another run in the fifth.

The Crusaders cut the lead to 5-3 in the seventh as DePriest hit a solo home run to left field. Alvernia put another runner on but was unable to score.
