Reading, Pa. (Oct. 10, 2015) - Penn State-Berks (2-0) earned wins in four of six singles matches to squeeze out a 5-4 win over Alvernia University (0-3) Saturday afternoon in non-conference men's tennis action at Angelica Park.
The Crusaders jumped out to a 2-1 lead after the doubles matches with wins at No. 1 and No. 2.
Kyle Clark and
Colin MacCloskey teamed for a 9-7 win at No. 1 and
Jacob Conapitski and
Reid Hoff teamed for an 8-6 win at No. 2.
Berks responded with wins at each of the top three singles spots and a fourth point for a win at No. 6. Alvernia got singles wins from Clark and
Antonio Gaetani.
The Crusaders continue the fall season at Cabrini on Monday.
