Carlisle, Pa. (Sept. 28, 2015) - Sophomore
Keith Noonan shot a 6-over 77 to lead Alvernia University to a 326 team total and seventh place out of 12 teams Monday afternoon at the Messiah College Men's Golf Invitational hosted by Carlisle Country Club.
Noonan shot 40 on the outward nine then came back with two birdies on the back on his way to a 1-over 37.
Senior
Brett Fernandes shot 80 for the Crusaders, freshman
Callum McCaslin posted his second straight 81, and
Tommy Godin rounded out the counting scores with an 88.
Messiah's Jordan Kirsh shot 2-under 69 to win the individual low medalist, and Moravian College won the team title with a 295.
Fernandes went out in 39 including his first birdie of the day at the par 5 ninth. He birdied two of the three par 5s on the 6,400 yard layout, but finished 3-over on the final two holes.
McCaslin birdied two holes on the front nine to shoot 40, but also made dobule on 17 and bogey at 18 for a 41 on the back nine.
Godin struggled to get started playing the first eight holes in 12-over. He made his first birdie of the season at the par 4 10th and played the back nine in 5-over 41 before closing his day with a par at the first.
The Crusaders return to action this weekend at the McDaniel two-day hosted by The Bridges.
