Emily Gilbert starter her collegiate career in style posting a 13-over 84 to earn low medalist honors and lead Alvernia University to a 376 team total and first place out of four teams at the Stevenson Invitational Thursday afternoon hosted by Piney Branch Golf Club.
Alvernia ScoresTeam ScoresRound AnalysisEmily Gilbert - Opened with a par at the first and carded four bogies and a double on the front to go out in 42. Went bogey-bogey-triple to start the back before playing the final six holes in 2-over with four pars and two bogies. Knocked an 8-iron to five feet on the final hole and converted the two-putt par.
Cayla McCarty - Started her season with four straight pars but posted a nine on the par 5 6th. Still managed to shoot 42 on the front matching Gilbert for the lead through nine holes. Carded her second nine of the day at the par 4 12th and played the back in 51.
Emily Sabo - Had three pars on the day--all on par 3s. Played the par 3s in 2-over with a double on the 13th.
Jordan Kissner - Posted three bogies and a par on the front to go out in 51. Then had six bogies on the back nine to shoot 49.
