Immaculata, Pa. (Mar. 17, 2026) - Alvernia University (2-4) opened up the spring semester schedule with a convincing 9-0 win over Immaculata (0-2) Thursday afternoon in non-conference men's tennis action at Immaculata.
Luke Hangan and
Reid Hoff set the tone with an 8-0 win at No. 1 singles then both followed with straight set wins in singles play. Counting both flights, Hoff played 22 games without a loss. Hangan dropped just one in 23.Â
Kyle Clark and
Colin MacCloskey picked up an 8-3 win at No. 2 doubles, and
Antonio Gaetani and
Todd Unger made it 3-0 with an 8-1 win at No. 3 doubles.
MacCloskey was the only player that needed a third set to claim his singles match coming back after a 6-2 loss in the first set he forced the third set then took the match with a 10-0 decision in the final set.
Alvernia continues the spring schedule Saturday hosting Summit University.
