Keith Noonan posted four birdies in a round of 77 to lead Alvernia University to a 337 team total and third place in the Philadelphia University Men's Golf Tri-Match Tuesday afternoon hosted by The ACE Club.
Noonan started his day on the par 4 second and made bogie of two of his first six holes. He then ran off three straight birdies on holes 8, 9, and 10--the last one a six footer to move him to 1-under on the day.
Following a bogey at 11 that put him back to even par, Noonan made five bogies and a double on the next six holes before settling down with a par on the 17th and a birdie on the home hole. He wrapped up his day with a par at the par 4 first.
Senior
Brett Fernandes posted a round of 82, junior
Zach Stricker carded 87, and sophomore Carl Stitt rounded out the counting scores with a 91 in his first collegiate competition.
Concordia College (N.Y.) took first place with a team score of 299 and Philly U finished second at 329.
Alvernia returns to action on Monday after Easter at the Lebanon Valley Invitational.
