Keith Noonan was one of just four players to break 80 recording four birdies with a 5-over 77 leading Alvernia University to a 336 team total and fourth place out of nine teams at the Alvernia University Men's Golf Spring Invitational Tuesday hosted by LedgeRock Golf Club.
Noonan birdied the fifth and the eighth holes on his way to a 2-over 38 on the front nine and closed with birides at 12 and 14 as part of a 3-over 39 on the inward half. With the four birdies he increased his team lead in birdies on the season to 27.
Senior
Brett Fernandes, the defending champion at the Alvernia Invitational, got his round to 1-under par with an eagle on the par 5 eight, but gave it back in a hurry with a triple at nine and played the back nine in 7-over for an 81. He finished in a tie for eighth place, his sixth top 10 finish of the season.
Sophomore
Cameron Cathcart had his best round of the season posting an 87 and
Zach Stricker rounded out the counting scores for the Crusaders with a 91.
Eastern University won the team event with a 317 total led by individual low medalist Matt Cocorikis who carded a 1-over 73.
Alvernia continues the regular season at the LaSalle Invitational on Monday.
