Reading, Pa. (Sept. 22, 2016) - Sophomore
Emily Gilbert earned individual medalist honors with an 84 to lead Alvernia University to a 381-393 win over Albright College Thursday afternoon in a women's golf dual match hosted by Berkshire Country Club.
Junior
Cayla McCarty posted 88 to finish second. Albright was led by Chelsea Campbell who shot 92.
Alvernia sophomore
Jordan Kissner posted a 100 and senior
Marisa Lombardo rounded out the counting scores with a 109.
Gilbert was 10-over on the front nine then shot a blistering 1-over 38 on the inward nine including birdies at 10 and 16. After a double at 12 and a bogey at 13 she played the final five holes of the match in 1-under.
McCarty put together similar nines shooting 47 on the front then trimming six strokes off that for a 41 on the back nine. She had one birdie on the day--at the 305-yard par 4 seventh.
The Crusaders continue the season next Tuesday at the Ursinus Invitational hosted by Raven's Claw.
