Wilkes-Barre, Pa. (Oct. 21, 2017) - Alvernia University made the quarterfinals at four flights at the MAC Men's Tennis Individual Championships Saturday at Kirby Park.

Jimmy Souder had a 6-2, 6-4 win in the first round at No. 4 singles, but lost to Luke Senft from Lebanon Valley, and Craig Grohoski had a bye into the quarters at No. 7 before falling to Ben Hinkley from Lebanon Valley.  

Souder and Michael Brophy advanced to the quarterfinals with an 8-6 win at No. 1 doubles before losing to the top seed and eventual champion from Wilkes University.  Todd Unger and Brad Viggiano teamed at No. 3 doubles to advance to the quarters with an 8-0 win over Eastern before an 8-2 loss to the team from LVC.
