Rising Sun, Md. (Mar. 27, 2017) - Sophomore
Emily Gilbert shot 87 on Monday for a two-day total 171 and 18th place leading Alvernia University to a 790 team total and 12th place out of 13 teams at the Battle of the Bay women's golf invitational hosted by Eastern University at Chesapeake Country Club.
Gilbert posted an 8-over 43 on the front nine and for the second time in two days posted a 44 on the back nine with a birdie. Â Sunday she carded a 3 on the par 4 12th and Monday she made a birdie 3 on the 402-yard par 4 16th.
Cayle McCarty shot 96 on Monday,
Jordan Kissner posted a 98, and
Jenna Trento rounded out the counting scores with a 116.
Gannon University overcame a six-stroke deficit after day one to pass Franklin Pierce for the team title.  Gannon's Manuela Quevedo held onto her individual lead to take home low medalist honors shooting 75-83 - 158.
Alvernia returns to action at the Muhlenberg Invitational next Monday at Lehigh Country Club.
