Colin MacCloskey stepped up to the top of the lineup and delivered for Alvernia University (8-4) in a 7-2 win over Gwynedd-Mercy University (2-3) Monday afternoon in non-conference men's tennis action at GMU.
Alvernia built a 3-0 lead after sweeping the doubles matches and MacCloskey kicked off the singles wins with a 6-2, 6-2 decision at No. 1 player in place of
Luke Hangen who missed Monday's match.
Reid Hoff also delivered a pair of points teamming with
Todd Unger to win the match at No. 1 doubles then coming back for a 7-5, 6-0 win at No. 2 singles.
Jimmy Sounder, and No. 4, and
Antonio Gaetani, at No 5, also picked up singles wins for Alvernia.
Alvernia returns to the conference schedule at Stevenson on Wednesday.
