Owings Mill, Md. (Apr. 12, 2017) - Stevenson University (4-10, 3-1) took two of three doubles matches then split the singles matches for a 5-4 win over Alvernia University (8-5, 1-3) Wednesday afternoon in MAC Commonwealth Men's Tennis action at Stevenson.
Jimmy Souder and
Antonio Gaetani teamed to give Alvernia its first point of the match at No. 3 doubles with an 8-6 win.  Souder fell behind with a 6-1 loss in his first set in singles play, but rebounded to win 12 of the next 16 games for a three-set win.
Luke Hangen pulled off the same come-from-behind win at No. 1 singles and
Reid Hoff won in straight sets at No. 3, but the Crusaders couldn't find the final point in a tightly contested match.
Alvernia is off for the Easter break and returns to action next Tuesday hosting Arcadia in a MAC Commonwealth match.
