Annville, Pa. (Apr. 15, 2017) - Sophomore Emily Gilbert shot a round of 81 to finish in second place and lead Alvernia University to a 380 team total and third place out of six teams at the Lebanon Valley College Spring Invitational Saturday afternoon at Lebanon Country Club.

The Crusaders placed three players in the top 10 with Cayla McCarty shooting 90 to finish in a tie for sixth place and Jordan Kissner posting a 93 to finish ninth.

Franklin & Marshall's Anelise Browne was the only player to break 80 and took low medalist honors with a 79.  She and Gilbert battled neck-and-neck all afternoon with Gilbert holding a one shot advantage with two holes to play.  Browne rolled in a birdie on the par 5 2nd while Gilbert made a double bogey, and the two played even on the par 3 3rd, their final hole of the day.

Alvernia continues a busy schedule at the Arcadia Invitational on Monday afternoon.
