Emily Gilbert tied for first place with a round of 82 and Alvernia University shot 379 matching its third best scoring output of the season and the best of the spring to finish third of six teams at the Arcadia Spring Invitational Monday afternoon hosted by Cedarbrook Golf Club.
Gilbert missed out on low medalist honors for the second time this weekend on a match of cards. Â She has finished first--or tied for first--five times in seven events this spring.
Alvernia shot 379 or better three times in October, including a season-best 376 at the Kutztown Fall Invitational.
Muhlenberg's Aine Filler also shot 82 on Monday and was awarded low medalist honors on the match of cards. Â Muhlenberg had three players in the top four spots and shot 344 to win the team title by 16 shots over Stevenson.
Alvernia sophomore
Jordan Kissner continued her strong spring with her fourth top 10 of the season. Â She shot 92 to finish in a tie for eighth. Â Junior
Cayla McCarty shot 94, and freshman
Jenna Trento rounded out the counting scores with a 111.
The Crusaders have five days to prepare for the MAC Championships which begin on Saturday at Hershey Country Club's East Course.
