Reading, Pa. (Apr. 18, 2017) - Arcadia University (9-5, 3-2) collected wins in all three doubles matchups en route to an 8-1 victory over Alvernia University (8-6, 1-4) in MAC Commonwealth men's tennis action Tuesday afternoon at Angelica Park.
Arcadia held the Crusaders to 8-4 and 8-3 matches in doubles play before taking the first two matches of singles play.
Alvernia claimed its lone point at No. 3 singles as
Reid Hoff took the match in straight sets. Hoff took the first set 6-4 before limiting his opponent to just two points in the second set.
Luke Hangen and
Antonio Gaetani both took their matchups to a third set. In the No.1 flight, Hangen won the second set 6-1, but dropped the third 10-7. For Gaetani in No.6, he opened with a 6-1 advantage in the first set, but fell in the next two.
Alvernia takes to the road on Saturday, facing cross-town rival Albright College in MAC Commonwealth action at 1:00 pm.
