Kutztown, Pa. (Apr. 8, 2017) - Sophomore Emily Gilbert shot 92 followed closely by Cayla McCarty at 93 and Jordan Kissner at 94 to lead Alvernia to a 409 team score and fifth place at the Kutztown Spring Invitational Saturday afternoon at Moselem Golf Course.

West Chester University shot 340 to take the team title by five strokes over the host Golden Bears.  West Chester's Lacey Bensing was the only player in the field to break 80, taking low medalist honors at 9-over 79.

Alvernia continues the season Tuesday at the Ursinus Invitational hosted by Stonewall Golf Club.
