Apollo, Pa. (Sept. 17, 2017) - Alvernia University shattered its record for team score with a 328 on day two of the Carnegie Mellon Women's Golf Fall Shootout at The Links at Spring Church to post a two-day 676 at third place out of eight teams.

Briana Hocker matched each other both days shooting 85 on Saturday followed by 81 on Sunday. Â Senior
Cayla McCarty shot improved from 86 Saturday to 83 on Sunday, and freshman
Faith Hughes went from 92 to 83.
Denison, the only team to beat Alvernia on Sunday, shot 320 to pull away for the team title. Â Allegheny's Kayla Orr shot 84-75 - 159 to win the individual low medalist honor by a stroke.
Alvernia returns to action a week from this Tuesday at the Ursinus Fall Invitational hosted by Stonewall.
