Pottstown, Pa. (Sept. 26, 2017) - Junior
Emily Gilbert shot 77 to lead Alvernia University to a 347 team total and second place at the Ursinus College Fall Invitational Tuesday afternoon hosted by Raven's Claw Golf Course.
Gilbert's score of 6-over 77 was good for third place individually. Â
Cayla McCarty and
Faith Hughes both shot 89 and
Jordan Kissner rounded out the counting scores with a 92.
PSU-Harrisburg's Allison Cooper won individual low medalist honors with a 73. Â Millersville University had four players in the top eight to win the team title.
Gilbert shot 1-over 37 on the front nine with three bogies and an eagle at the 495-yard par 5 7th, and was 5-over on the back nine where she carded four pars and five bogies.
Hughes and McCarty had a birdie each in matching 89s. Â Hughes made birdie on the par 5 7th and McCarty birdied the 347-yard par 4 18th.
Alvernia returns to action this coming Sunday-Monday at the Kutztown University Invitational hosted by Moselem Spring Golf Club.
