Selinsgrove, Pa. (Sept. 30, 2017) - Susquehanna University defeated Alvernia University 7-2 Saturday afternoon in non-conference men's tennis action at Susquehanna.
Susquehanna jumped out to a 2-1 lead after doubles play then won each of the last five singles matches.
Alvernia freshman Mike Brophy remained undefeated at No. 1 singles with a 6-1, 6-3 win. He teamed up with co-captain
Jimmy Souder for a win at No. 1 doubles.
"We are getting some consistent improvement among our first year players, which is a positive sign," said Alvernia head coach
Larry Zerbe. "And co-captain
Todd Unger continues to make strides at No. 3 singles."
Alvernia continues the fall season this Wednesday at DeSales.
