Luke Fagley shot 75 to lead Alvernia University to a 353 team total and 15th place out of 17 teams at the Muhlenberg Fall Invitational Monday afternoon hosted by Lehigh Country Club.
Lehigh typically plays at a par 70, but with the par 4 4th under construction so the field played an extra par 3 practice hole as the replacement making it play to a par of 69.
Fagley finished in a 4-way tie for sixth place. Sophomore
Joe Polidoro shot 79, Joe Bode carded a 98, and
Andrew Schoenblum rounded out the counting scores with a 101.
Fagley started his day on the par 5 6th and opened with seven straight pars before missing the green at the par 3 13th and making a bogey. Â He missed the green at 15 and 16 and made bogies then got back on track with 2-putt pars at 17 and 18. He got under a tree at the replacement par 3 that lead to bogey and made another at 1 and 3 before a nice par save at 5 to finish his day.
Polidoro's 79 put him in a 7-way tie for 26th. Â He opened with a bogey and a birdie and was 1-over through his first six holes before 3-putting for double bogey at the par 5 11th. Â He followed with back-to-back bogies and made two more on the back to turn in 41. After a pair of pars he 2-putted for bogey on 2 and finished with a double on 3.
Alvernia returns to action on Wednesday for day two of the Yocum Cup. Â Albright holds a 2-1 lead after day one. Wednesday will feature six singles matches at Alvernia's home course, Ledgerock Golf Club.
