Lancaster, Pa. (Oct. 15, 2018) - Sophomore
Joe Polidoro shot 77 to lead Alvernia University to a 337 team total and 15th place out of 17 teams at the Franklin & Marshall Fall Golf Invitational Monday afternoon hosted by Bent Creek Country Club.
The Diplomats lit up their home course which was set up for scoring. Â The Blue team shot even par 284 to win the team title while the White team posted 291 to finish second.
Penn State-Berks' Andrew Cornish shot 4-under 67 with five birdies and a bogey to earn low medalist honors. Â Seven total players in the field shot even par or better.

Luke Fagley shot 82, sophomore Joe Bode improved nine strokes on his career best to post 87, and
Kyle Millard rounded out the counting scores with a 91.
Polidoro opened his day with back-to-back bogies at 4 and 5 then carded pars on seven of the next eight holes. Â He made bogies at 14 and 17 and finished the day with a 3-putt bogey at 3.
Fagley had trouble avoiding the bunkers at Bent Creek. Â He started on the par 4 5th and played his first 11 holes in 11-over. Â He stuffed a wedge to a foot on 17 for a birdie then 2-putted for birdie at 18. Â He made bogies at 1 and 2 and finished his day with pars at 3 and 4.
Bode started his day with a par at the par 3 6th then went 7-over in his next four holes. Â He settled down with three pars on the back and made pars at 1 and 2.
Millard played the par 3s well going 1-over on the four of them, but struggled on the par 5s posting 8s at the 12th and 18th.
Alvernia is off for two weeks before closing the fall season out on October 29 at the Arcadia Invitational at Cedarbrook.
