White Haven, Pa. (Oct. 7, 2018) - Freshman
Yupha Muzyka shot a t-1st 82 to pace Alvernia to a first place finish with a team score of 343 at the MAC Preview at Mountain Laurel Golf Club in women's golf action on Sunday.
Muzyka's 82 was good for a t-1st place finish at the site of the 2019 MAC Championship, but she lost low-medalist honors on a match of cards to Manhattanville's Nicole Krause.
The Golden Wolves, the defending MAC Championship, posted all counting scores in the top-ten to finish 15 strokes ahead of second place Eastern University.
Muzyka posted five pars and two birdies on the front nine to make the turn with a 37. She followed that with two pars on the back nine on her way to a 45 on the final nine for the 82 total.
Senior
Emily Gilbert finished one stroke back of Muzyka with a third place round of 83.
Gilbert posted nine totals pars, including five on the front nine to post a 39 at the turn, on her round. Gilbert went par-par to close out on the par 4 17th and par 3 18th.
Finishing in third for the Golden Wolves and t-5th overall was sophomore
Briana Hocker. Hocker posted a round of 87 on the day. Hocker posted six pars on her scorecard to on her way to her third lowest career round.
Rounding out the counting scores for the Golden Wolves was senior
Jordan Kissner. Kissner posted a round of 91 for a t-9th place finish. Kissner had five total pars on her round, and had a string of three consecutive pars on 4th, 5th, and 6th holes.
Freshman
Maggie Arnold played as Alvernia's fifth, and posted a round of 100 to finish t-19th. Arnold posted three pars on her round, two of which came on the back nine.
The Golden Wolves continues on with their schedule when both they host their home invitational at LedgeRock Golf Club on Tuesday.
