BOX SCORE 2 Clermont, FL. (March 5, 2018) – The Alvernia University Softball team continued their hot start in Florida winning both games on the day.
In game one the Golden Wolves fell behind early before the bats came alive to win 17-6 against North Central University (0-2). Leading the charge was
Morgan Psiuk going 3-5 scoring 4 runs and
JoAnnah Lim going 3-4. Freshman
Nicole August got her first career start on the mound going 2.2 innings before
Kayla Andrews came in relief throwing 3.1 innings earning her 2
nd win.
Riley Shields threw a perfect 7
th to finish the game.
The offense continued their run production into game two winning 15-0 against Emmanuel College (1-2) in 5 innings. Shields started on the mound throwing 4.1 scoreless innings before
Zoee Garis closed out the game recording the last 2 outs. Shields went 3-3 in the batter box and
JoAnnah Lim hit her first homerun of the season while collecting 3 RBI's.
The Golden Wolves will be back in action Wednesday, March 7
th against Mitchell College at 9:00 AM and Penn State Brandywine at 11:30 AM.
