Elverson, Pa. (April 18, 2018) - Alvernia University had three players post scores under 90 for a team total of 367 and to take first place at the Ursinus Spring Invitational, hosted at Stonewall Golf Club's North Course.
Junior
Emily Gilbert paced the Golden Wolves with a round of 84 to finish in third place, just two strokes behind low medalist Aine Filer from Muhlenberg College.
Senior
Cayla McCarty finished four strokes behind Gilbert with a round of 88 to finish in sixth place overall.
Freshman
Briana Hocker posted the third score under 90 with a round of 89 to finish in seventh place.
Junior
Jordan Kissner rounded out the counting scores for the Golden Wolves with a round of 106 and a t-19th place finish.
Alvernia's team score was just three strokes better than Muhlenberg and Ursinus, who finished tied for second with team scores of 370.
The team victory caps off a busy four days for the Golden Wolves that featured three matches, three top-three team finishes, and low medalist honors for Gilbert in the first match at of the four day stint.
Alvernia continues its spring swing with the Jefferson Invite on Saturday, hosted at the ACE Club.
