BOX SCORE 1 | BOX SCORE 2 Chester, Pa. (Apr. 14, 2018) Sophomore Riley Shields leads the Golden Wolves to a sweep of Widener (10-12, 5-5) University going 6-6 at the plate while drawing 2 walks. She pitched 9.1 innings between both games earning the win in game 1 and the save for game 2. Alvernia improves to 19-6-1 on the season and 5-5 in the MAC Commonwealth.
 
Alvernia used the long ball to power past the Pride in game one. Alyssa Acker, Emily Carmella, and JoAnnah Lim each had a home run. Alvernia won by a final score of 6-2.
 
In game two Alvernia jumped out to an early 4-0 lead in the first inning off of 4 hits, while taking advantage of 2 walks and a hit batter. The bats went quiet until the 5^th inning when Mckenzie Miessau hit a solo home run over the left field wall for her 100^th career hit making the score 5-1. Widener scored 1 run in the fourth and 2 in the fifth, but that was all they would be able to push across for a final score of 8-3.
 
Zoee Garis (4-1)  started on the mound in game two going 4.2 innings while scattering 5 hits and giving up 3 runs (1 earned).
