Seniors Pace Alvernia At ESU

Stroudsburg, Pa. (Sept. 16, 2018) - Seniors Emily Gilbert and Jordan Kissner both posted rounds in the 80's to pace Alvernia University to a third place finish at East Stroudsburg University Invitational on Sunday afternoon at Glen Brook Country Club.

Gilbert carded a 12-over 84 in the first match of the 2018-19 season. The 84 was good for a t-3rd finish and was just three strokes of the low medalist - Kinley Lingenfelter of Jefferson University.

Kissner finished just five strokes back of Gilbert with a career low round of 89 and a 9th place finish.

Sophomore Faith Hughes finished in third for the Golden Wolves, and three strokes back of Kissner with a round of 94 for a t-13th place finish.

Making her debut for the Golden Wolves and rounding out Alvernia's counting scores was freshman Yupha Muzyka. In her first collegiate round, Muyzka fired a round of 93 for a t-16th place finish.

Finishing one stroke back of Muyzka was sophomore Briana Hocker, who shot a round of 94 for a t-18th place finish.

Also making her collegiate debut with the Golden Wolves was Maggie Arnold, who finished the day with a round of 118.

East Stroudsburg University took home the low team honors on their home course, just one stroke ahead of Jefferson.

Alvernia finished third in the six team field with a team score of 358.

The Golden Wolves continue their fall schedule on Sunday with a tri-match against Jefferson and Arcadia University at The ACE Club.
