Grantham, Pa. (Dec. 7, 2019) - Ali Capobianco (184) and Tonee Ellix (197) both finished in fifth place and Gavin Hollingsworth (157) finished in seventh place for Alvernia University at the Messiah Petrofes Invitational Saturday morning at Messiah.

Hollingsworth lost in round five of the consolation round then beat Jayden Johnson (Thaddeus Steven) in overtime, 12-10, to finish in seventh place.

Capobianco won his first match Saturday with a 10 second pin of Anthony Scurry (Mount Union), lost to Jimmy Fratanoni (Muhlenberg) by major decision in the consolation semifinal then won the fifth place match by tech fall, 17-0, over David Glasso (Penn College).

Ellis started Saturday with a sudden victory over Moustafa Almeky (Wilkes) then lost by fall to Landon Talbert (Mount Union) in the semifinals.  He outlasted Alex Donahue, 5-3, in the fifth place match.

Alvernia continues the season next Sunday at Alfred State.
