Philadelphia, Pa. (Mar. 31, 2019) - Senior
Emily Gilbert tied the school-record with a 4-over round of 76 to lead Alvernia to a second place finish at the Jefferson University Tri-Match on Sunday afternoon at The ACE Club.
Gilbert's round of 76 ties the record that she currently holds. The senior shot a 76 in the Spring of 2017 at the Ursinus Spring Invitational, hosted at Stonewall's North Course.
Gilbert finished her round with 11 pars and two birdies. Her round included an impressive two-under nine hole run that started with a par on the par four fifth and finished with a birdie on the par four 13th. The stretch also included a birdie on the par four seventh. Gilbert's round of 76 was good for a second place finish, and was one stroke off low-medalist Kinley Lingenfelter of Jefferson.
Finishing in second for Alvernia and third overall was freshman
Yupha Muzyka. Muzyka finished her round with eight pars and one birdie. Muzyka also went on a run, with a one-under run performance over a seven hole stretch. Muzyka's run started with a par on the par five third and ended with a par on the par five ninth. She posted a birdie on the par four eighth.
Finishing in third for Alvernia and eight overall was sophomore
Briana Hocker with a round of 96. Hocker finished her day with three pars and a birdie. The highlight of her round came on a birdie at the par four seventh.
Rounding out the counting scores for Alvernia and finishing t-9th overall was senior
Jordan Kissner with a round of 97. Kissner finished her round with four pars, including back-to-back pars on the par three 14th and par four 15th.
Freshman
Maggie Arnold finished 13th overall with a round of 107. Arnold finished with three pars, including back-to-back pars on the fourth and fifth holes.
Jefferson finished in first place overall with a team score of 350. Ursinus finished in third with a team score of 437.
The Golden Wolves return to the course on Tuesday when they host their home invitational at LedgeRock Golf Club.
