Duffy's 77 Leads Alvernia To Second Place At Home

Mohnton, Pa. (Apr. 2, 2019) - Jake Duffy shot a 5-over 77 to finish fourth individually and lead Alvernia University to a 325 team total and second place out of nine teams at the Alvernia Men's Golf Spring Invitational Tuesday afternoon hosted by Ledgerock Golf Club.

Duffy had three doubles, a bogey, and a pair of birdies to card his lowest round of the season. He bounced back from his second double of the day on the par 3 10th to make birdie on the difficult par 4 11th then after another double at the par 3 14th he played the final stretch of holes on the back nine in 1-under with a birdie at the par 5 18th.

Joe Polidoro shot 81, Kyung Chung posted 82, and Luke Fagley rounded out the counting scores with an 85.

Polidoro ran into a little bit of trouble with a lost ball off the tee at the par 4 5th that led to a triple, and turned in 43. He dropped a 10-footer for birdie at the par 3 10th and played the first five holes on the back nine in 1-under before a double at 15 and a bogey at 17.

Chung carded three doubles in his first six holes and shot 42 on the front nine. He played the first five holes on the back nine in 1-under then had a bogey-double-bogey run before making birdie at 18.

Fagley had a good start to his day with three bogies and eight pars over his first 11 holes, but a wayward tee shot on 13 led to a quad and he managed just one par in his last seven.

Alvernia continues the season on Sunday for Day One of the Hershey Cup hosted by the University of Rochester at Hershey Country Club.
