Emily Gilbert shot a 4-over 76 to earn low-medalist honors and lead Alvernia to a  Division III leading first place score of 352 at its home invitational on Tuesday, hosted at LedgeRock Golf Club.
Gilbert tied her own single round school-record of 76 for the second outing in a row. She shot a 76 on Sunday at the Ace Club, and holds the record which she originally set in the spring of 2017 at Stonewall's North Course.
Alvernia finished first among Division III schools, and second overall, finishing one stroke ahead of MAC competitor Stevenson University. The Golden Wolves finished ahead of Division II Kutztown and Millersville for the first time in program history.Â
Gilbert went par-bogey-par-bogey to start her round. She then went par-birdie on the par 4 5th and 6th. She had a blemish with a bogey on the par 5, but recovered with a par on 5 8th, which started off a 2-under seven hole run. Gilbert posted birdies on the par 4 11th and and par 3 14th, and had five pars on the run. Gilbert then went 4-over par on the final four holes to finish out her round of 76. The senior finished three strokes ahead of the second place finisher, Hannah Yanoski of Division II Millersville.
Finishing in second for Alvernia and t-8th overall was freshman
Yupha Muzyka, with a round of 85. Muzyka finished with eight pars on her round, including pars on the difficult par 4 17th and 559 yard par 5 18th.
Finishing in third for Alvernia and t-23rd overall was freshman
Briana Hocker. Hocker's round was highlighted by pars on the par 3 2nd, par 4 6th, and par 4 11th.
Rounding out the counting score for Alvernia and finishing in 26th overall was senior
Jordan Kissner with a round 96. Kissner's round was highlighted by a par on the par 4 5th.
Finishing in fifth for Alvernia and t-37th overall was freshman
Maggie Arnold with a round of 114. Arnold posted a par on the par 3 4th.
Alvernia returns to action on Saturday at the two-day York College Spartan Invitational, hosted at The Country Club of York.
