Fagley's 74 Leads Alvernia To Fourth At Arcadia

Blue Bell, Pa. (Apr. 22, 2019) - Freshman Luke Fagley fired a career-low 74 to finish tied for second place out of 47 players and lead Alvernia University to a 318 team total and fourth place out of nine teams Monday afternoon at the Arcadia Invitational hosted by Cedarbrook Country Club.

Fagley posted 1-over 37 on both 9s with two birdies and three bogies on both sides. He was 1-under through seven holes with a birdie at the uphill, par 3 5th and another at the dogleg left par 4 7th, but posted bogies at 8 and 9 for his first 37.

He bogied each of the first two holes on the back nine, but bounced back with a birdie at the par 5 12th, gave one back with bogey at the par 4 15th, and nearly holed his approach at the par 4 18th leading to tap-in birdie to finish the round.

Kyung Chung shot 77, Jake Duffy shot 81, and Joe Polidoro rounded out the counting scores with an 81.

Chung birdied both par 5s on the front nine and was 1-under on his round following the up-and-down birdie at 6, but made bogey on 7 and 8 before a nice up-and-down save at 9 to turn in 37.

He played the first four holes on the back nine even with a birdie and a bogey, but was 4-over on the final five holes to post 77.

Duffy did well to post nothing worse than bogey all day. He had six bogies and three pars on the front to shoot 42 on the outward nine and had four bogies with a birdie at the par 4 15th on the back nine to return in 39.

Polidoro made three pars in a four-hole stretch on the front and shot 44. He carded a pair of birdies on the back nine--at 10 and 14--but was undone by an OB shot and a quadruple bogey at the par 4 17th.

Alvernia heads right back out on Tuesday for a local quad match with Penn State-Berks, Albright, and Hood College at Berkshire Country Club.
