Fagley Finishes Tied For Seventh

Reading, Pa. (Apr. 23, 2019) - Freshman Luke Fagley shot 8-over 79 to lead Alvernia University to a 321 team total and fourth place at the Albright Quad Match Tuesday afternoon hosted by Berkshire Country Club.

Albright senior Nick Hand posted a blistering 4-under 67 to take low medalist honors and Penn State-Berks shot 297 to win the team title.

Kyung Chung and Jake Duffy both shot 80 for the Golden Wolves and Joe Polidoro rounded out the counting scores with an 82.

Fagley got on the bogey train in the middle of his front nine and posted 5-over 41 on the outward nine with five bogies and four pars. He opened the back with a double at the par 4 10th and responded with his only birdie of the day at the par 3 11th. He played the final six holes in 1-over with five pars and a bogey.

For the second time in as many days, Chung shot 1-over 37 on his first nine hole stretch. Once again he took advantage of the par 5s making birdie on both on the front side. He added a birdie at the par 4 7th, but that was offset with a double at 2 and bogies at 3 and 5.

He posted 43 on the back nine with three doubles and a pair of bogeys.

Duffy opened his day with a double at the par 3 16th then played a stretch of 16 straight holes in 4-over with a birdie and five bogeys, but put up a crooked number with a triple bogey 7 on his final hole of the day.

Polidoro was undone by the big number, but did show signs of finding his form with three birdies in a 4-hole stretch on the front nine. He finished his day with two doubles, a triple, and a quad--going 11 over on four holes, but played the other 14 holes in 1-under.

Alvernia heads to Mt. Laurel Golf Club this weekend for the MAC Commonwealth Championships. The winner of the 36-hole championship heads to Keene Trace Golf Club in Kentucky for the Division III National Championship.
